WARM GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF OUR RISEN LORD

Warm greetings from the vicar of St. Gregorios Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church in the name of One Triune God.

This community St. Gregorios Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church, Waterford is a group of Malayali Orthodox Christians in Waterford and one of the independent parishes of the diocese of UK-Europe and Africa of the Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church. It was declared as a Congregation in the diocese of UK-Europe and Africa of the Indian Orthodox Church by H. G. Mathews Mar Thimothios, Metropolitan, in the year 2009 and as a Parish by H. G. Abraham Mar Stephanos Metropolitan from January 2023.

The Diocese of UK-Europe and Africa is one of the 30 dioceses of the Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Syrian Church, which has its Holy See at the Catholicate Palace (Devalokam Aramana) , located in the ancient city of Kottayam in the southern coastal state of Kerala in the Republic of India. The Parishes and congregations of the diocese are spread across 10 countries over the two continents, Europe and Africa. The headquarters of the Diocese is situated in the town of Swindon in the southwest of England (UK).

We, the Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church are an autocephalous Oriental Orthodox church and have our roots in St. Thomas Syrian Christianity that originated in the South-West Indian state of Kerala. The church has found a notable presence in Ireland in the past decade with illustrious leadership of clergy and congregants throughout Ireland with its nucleus at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Dublin. St. Gregorios Waterford has emerged as a center for worship, education and philanthropy under the divine intercessions of St. Gregorios of Parumala, our patron saint.

The continued commitment, goodwill, care and endorsement of our members are reflected in their active participation of all our initiatives, be it spiritual or social in context. Christ’s love is replicated through this congregation which abetted us to work like a family that prays together and stays together. We welcome you to join us in our worship and experience His divine presence.

With Warm & Loving Regards,
In Christ,
Fr. Mathew K Mathew
